LICENCE
Licence for personal and classroom use
A plain-English summary of what one purchase lets you do. The licence file inside each download is the full version, and it applies if anything here differs from it.
Last updated 15 October 2026.
Who one purchase covers
One purchase of a colouring book, story book or activity pack covers either:
- one household: the people you live with, or
- one educator’s own non-commercial classroom or small teaching group: a teacher, tutor, home educator or group leader using it with the children they teach.
A school, centre or group with several teachers needs one copy for each teacher who uses the book. If you’d like to ask about wider use, contact us about licensing.
You can
- Print as many copies as you need for the household or class the purchase covers.
- Colour the pages on your own devices, including in the Puddleleaf studio with the included .colourbook file.
- Display the children’s finished pages at home, in your classroom or on a noticeboard.
- Share photos of finished, coloured pages on social media (a mention of Puddleleaf is appreciated, not required).
- Keep a backup copy of your download for yourself.
Please don’t
- Sell, resell or give away the files, or printed copies of the blank pages.
- Upload the files, pages or artwork anywhere others can download them: shared drives open to other families or classes, school-wide portals, websites or file-sharing sites.
- Use the pages or artwork in products you sell, including print-on-demand items, or in other books or packs.
- Share the .colourbook studio companion file outside the household or class covered.
- Remove the copyright or licence notes from the files.
Free samples
Free samples come with their own short use note inside the download. Please follow that note. Linking people to our free pages is always welcome.
Creative tools are different
The Friendly Learning Design Kit has its own licence that allows use in finished projects, including commercial ones, but not reselling or redistributing the assets themselves. Check the licence included with that product.
Who owns what
Puddleleaf Studio keeps the copyright in the books, artwork and files. Buying a book gives you a licence to use it as described here; it doesn’t transfer ownership. Pages your children colour in are theirs to keep and enjoy.
