REFUNDS
Refunds and problems with a download
If something’s wrong with a book you bought, we want to put it right. Here’s how it works.

If something is wrong
Tell us if a download:
- won’t download or open, or the files are damaged;
- is missing pages or files the product page says are included;
- is noticeably different from its description or previews; or
- has an error that makes a page hard to use.
We’ll fix the file, send you a replacement, or refund you. Under the Australian Consumer Law, if the problem is major or can’t be fixed within a reasonable time, you can choose a refund.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law can apply to digital products like ours. They can’t be excluded by any shop policy, including this one. You can read about them on the ACCC website. If you live outside Australia, your local consumer law may give you rights too.
Change of mind
Because a download can’t be returned once it’s been delivered, we don’t offer refunds just because you’ve changed your mind or no longer need the book. This doesn’t affect your rights if something is wrong with it. Before buying, you can check the product page, the previews and, for many books, a free sample.
Bought the same book twice by mistake? Tell us and we’ll refund the extra copy.
How to ask
- Reply to your Gumroad receipt email, or use our contact form, or email [email protected].
- Tell us the book’s name, the email you used at checkout and what went wrong. A screenshot helps if a page looks wrong.
- We’ll reply, usually within a few business days (Brisbane time).
How refunds are paid
Refunds are issued through Gumroad back to the payment method you used. They’re made in the currency you paid in (US dollars), so the amount in your own currency can differ slightly because of exchange rates. How long it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider. Gumroad also has its own refund help page.
